RocketRez vs FareHarbor: Custom Quotes vs Guest-Paid Fees

Comparison

RocketRez vs FareHarbor: Custom Quotes vs Guest-Paid Fees

One quotes you custom pricing, the other moves its fee to the guest. Here is what each says, and what to ask.

Two booking companies walk into a sales call. One says, “Let’s talk about your business first, then we’ll send you a price.” The other says, “The fee goes to your guest at checkout.” Both sound fine. So which one leaves more money in your pocket at the end of the season?

If you are weighing rocketrez vs fareharbor, you are really comparing two ways of pricing. One is a custom quote. The other is a fee your guests pay. This post sticks to what each company says on its own website, as of September 2026. Where they do not publish a number, we will tell you, and give you the question to ask. We will also show where the GoFish.Rocks FareHarbor alternative fits, since a flat rate is a third way to go.

RocketRez vs FareHarbor: the pricing models in plain English

Let’s start with what each company actually says. No guesses, no rumors from the fuel dock.

RocketRez: a quote built for you

According to RocketRez’s pricing page (as of September 2026), pricing is custom and starts with a discovery call about your business. The page lists two options: “Fixed monthly or annual fees” or “Usage-based pricing: Pay per ticket or percentage of sales.” It does not publish dollar amounts.

So the real price depends on your quote. That is not good or bad by itself. It just means you need the quote in writing before you can compare anything.

FareHarbor: a fee your guest pays

According to a FareHarbor blog post dated August 21, 2024, with its pricing model “the booking fee is transferred to the customer at checkout.” The same post describes this model as generally “omitting any monthly payment plans or upfront costs.”

FareHarbor does not publish its booking fee percentage on the pages we checked. If you are looking at FareHarbor, ask for the exact fee in writing, and ask how it shows up on your guest’s receipt.

A fee your guest pays is still part of what your guest pays. It lands on the same total they see at checkout.

Where the money goes

Pricing is one half. The other half is how fast the money reaches you.

According to FareHarbor’s payments page (as of September 2026), “Funds processed through FareHarbor are paid out on the next day or whenever is best for your schedule.” That page does not list processing rate numbers, so ask for them.

RocketRez does not list payout timing on its pricing page. Ask them too. (Yes, you will be asking a lot of questions. That is the job.)

With GoFish.Rocks, payments go straight into your own merchant account, like Stripe, Square, Authorize.net, or our fair credit card processing option. GoFish.Rocks never holds your money. Most operators see deposits within 24 hours.

What about the fee when trips get canceled?

Here’s the thing about boats. Weather wins. Every captain has refunded a full trip at 5 am while the wind howled.

The pages we checked from both companies do not cover fees on weather refunds. So ask. On GoFish.Rocks, canceled and refunded bookings cost $0, weather included. You are billed at month end, after you have been paid, and only for guests on trips that sailed.

“No monthly fee” is not the same as “no cost.” Someone still pays something on every booking. Ask who pays it, how much it is, and how it shows up on your guest’s receipt.

Questions to ask both companies

Six questions for your RocketRez vs FareHarbor calls

Get every answer in writing. A number on a call is not a number on a contract.

  • What is my exact fee per booking, as a dollar amount or a percentage?
  • Who pays it, me or my guest, and can I change that later?
  • What do I pay when I refund a trip for weather?
  • What are the card processing rates, and who is the processor?
  • How fast do payouts land in my bank?
  • Is there a contract, and what does it cost to leave?

Where GoFish.Rocks fits

Maybe you want a price you can read without a sales call. GoFish.Rocks charges a flat $1.50 per passenger, per trip. There is no percentage, no setup fee, no monthly plan and no contract. You can cancel any month. Charters have a 6-passenger minimum, so the smallest fee is $9.00 per charter.

Here is how the flat rate looks next to percentage fees, using our pricing page math. The percentages are example rates, not any named company’s rate.

  • $100 ticket: $1.50 flat, vs $3, $5 or $6 at 3%, 5% or 6%.
  • $400 ticket: $1.50 flat, vs $12, $20 or $24.

The booking flow stays on your own website, with no redirects. Setup, training and migration are free, and support is US-based and same-day. See the full pricing page or browse all of our comparisons.

Bottom line

RocketRez gives you a custom quote. FareHarbor moves its booking fee to the guest at checkout. Both can work. But you cannot compare them until you have real numbers in writing. Get the quotes, ask the six questions, then put a flat rate next to them. Need more help? Read our FareHarbor review guide too.
