Best Boat Tour Management Software: How to Build Your Shortlist

A scorecard, what vendors publish about pricing, and a one-week plan to cut your list to two.

Search for the best software for your boat and you get ten lists that all crown a different winner. Funny how that works. So let’s skip the crown and do something more useful: build a shortlist that fits your boat, your trips and your wallet.

There is no single best boat tour management software for everyone. A six-pack charter, a 100-seat harbor cruise and a dive shop all need different things. This guide gives you the criteria, shows what a few vendors publish about pricing on their own sites, and helps you cut your list down to two or three. When you are ready to line options up, our booking software comparisons page is a good next stop.

What makes the best boat tour management software for you?

We’ve worked with charter and tour boat operators for years. Here’s the thing: the right pick is usually the one that fits how your boat actually runs, not the one with the longest feature list.

Start with these questions about your own business. Write the answers down before you look at a single demo.

  • How do you sell? Seats on a big boat, private charters, or both?
  • What does a trip cost? Higher ticket prices make the fee model matter more.
  • How often does weather cancel trips? If often, refund fees and mass messages matter a lot.
  • Who runs the office? If it is you, from the boat, support and simplicity come first.

The criteria table

Use this table as your scorecard. Ask every vendor on your list the same questions.

Criteria Why it matters What to ask
Fee model It follows you all season Flat, percentage, monthly, or a mix?
Weather refunds You should not pay on a trip that never left What do I pay when I refund?
Payouts Cash flow in peak season Where does money land, and when?
Manifest Safety and headcount What does it show? Is it live?
Support Busy days need fast help Who answers, how, and when?
Exit terms Plans change Contract length and exit fees?

What vendors publish about pricing

We checked a few company websites in September 2026. We are only sharing what each company says on its own page. For anything not listed, ask the vendor directly.

FareHarbor

According to FareHarbor’s blog post on choosing a booking system (dated August 21, 2024), with its pricing model “the booking fee is transferred to the customer at checkout,” and it generally omits monthly payment plans or upfront costs. That page does not list a fee percentage, so ask for the exact fee in writing.

Peek Pro

According to Peek Pro’s website (as of September 2026), “Peek Pro uses custom, quote-based pricing tailored to your business rather than a fixed monthly plan.” The same page lists features such as automated waitlists and abandoned booking recovery. Request a quote and compare it with your own trip math. If you want our side-by-side view, see the Peek Pro alternative page.

Bookeo

According to Bookeo’s tours pricing page (as of September 2026), its Tours & Activities plans run from $14.95 to $119.95 USD a month, and its FAQ says Bookeo “does not charge commissions on payments.” Payment gateway fees still apply, so ask what those will be.

Rezdy and Xola

Both are worth a look if they fit your trips. Check each company’s own pricing page, and ask the same scorecard questions above. Get the answers by email.

A pricing page is a starting point. The number that matters is the one in your signed agreement.

How GoFish.Rocks fits on your shortlist

Fair is fair, so here is ours. GoFish.Rocks is built for charter captains, whale watching, dive, party boat and tour operators.

  • Fee: a flat $1.50 per passenger, per trip. No percentage, no setup fee, no monthly subscription. See our pricing.
  • Charters: a 6-passenger minimum, so the smallest fee is $9.00 per charter.
  • Weather: $0 on canceled and refunded bookings. Billing happens at month end, only for trips that sailed.
  • Money: payments go straight to your own merchant account. Most operators see deposits within 24 hours.
  • Boat tools: USCG-compliant manifests with a live headcount, headboat manifest support, waitlists, and walk-ups and private charters in one system.
  • Exit: no contracts. Cancel any month with no penalty.

Mutineer Charters runs a 6-boat operation with 280+ five-star reviews. In their words: “The system stayed simple while the operation grew.” You can see the full booking software overview for more.

How to cut your list to two

By now you may have five or six names. That is too many to test well (and nobody wants six sales calls in one week). Here is a simple plan to get down to two. Keep it short, keep it written, and keep every vendor on the same questions so the answers line up.

A one-week shortlist plan
Day 1
Write your needs. Trip types, prices and how often weather hits.
Day 2
Read pricing pages. Note what each vendor publishes and what it doesn’t.
Day 3 to 4
Send the scorecard. Same questions to every vendor, by email.
Day 5
Run your own math. Use a real month of your bookings.
Day 6 to 7
Call support. See who picks up (a great test on a Saturday).

For more on how fees stack up, read our guide to charter booking software fees.

Bottom line: the best boat tour management software is the one that answers your scorecard clearly, in writing, and still makes sense on a weather week.
